Web 2:0

As the Web 2.0 is a term used to describe the new way how the users can interact with the internet in this day and age. This approach happened because of the new improvement which are on the web as there is new software that is able to power the web the way people use it. However there are different key features that are apart of the Web 2.0 which are:

 

Interaction

 

 As this means that the users can interact with other people on the web as they can go on YouTube and leave comment under a person's video that they put up and tell them what they think of it.

There are many other communication methods that I could of pick from such as twitter, podcast or wiki.

Twitter

As twitter is a lot like blogger in the way that I am able to write in posts on it however in twitter there is limit on the amount of information that I can put on one post. Also twitter is more a social network site than a blogger. As people use it to follow celebrity and see what they are at. However with twitter you are able to upload video, images and video. Therefore I thing that twitter is not good for my class as there is not effect room to write on the topic in. Also with twitter there is too many thing going on for my class as they can go and look up celebrity instead doing their work.

Wiki
Wiki real name is Wikipedia which is a free internet encyclopedia that is created by the users and anyone is able to change what is writing on the site. Also this website has unlimited number of topic and half of the information on it is fault. Therefore it is easy to be distracted on it and that it is a public website. As this would not be good for the student in my class as anyone is able to change the work on it.

However with wiki they give the user a step by step guide to get it start and the person is able to communication with other. Also with wiki it gives good opportunities for active learning and other are able to review it such as teacher. Therefore with wiki there are more flexible tools.

Podcast
Podcast is a word that is put together by to two words which are broadcasting and ipod. For podcasting all the user needs is a MP3 which is one of the most popular audio file type. However if the user has a music player on their computer they should be fit to listen to a podcast file.  The reason why it is good is because it is available at anytime or anywhere for people. Also it is easy to create, distribute and to download and there is no extra equipment needed to do it.  Therefore the people are able to take it anywhere with them for example when they are walking, driving or waiting for a bus to come.

However the disadvantage of podcasting is they need download the file on to the MP3 player and need sufficient bandwidth to download the podcasts in a timely fashion. Also it can be hard to heard people and what they are talking about.

User centered content

In the part the user is able to put up video up in YouTube so different people can see it. Also user have flicker as this website let user put image/picture on the internet for other people can see. There is also wiki were people can add on to other information to other such as Wikipedia as this website is about define. As people can add on what they think the word means. However they are also bebo, MySpace, Linkedin, friends reunited.

 

 

Blog is also another web 2:0 technology as in my class we are in the middle doing a blog. As this allow user to put in there own information on it and their own picture,
