Intranets

The internet enables everyone to access all parts of it. Intranet is were the people from the place can get login into their website for example in SRC they have a website called moodle. Here is an example below. As you can see it as different links for the user to click, which takes them to different sections of the intranet such as the sport kit, job opportunities and it show what course are were. If the user isn't a member of the college then they access moodle. 


This website is for the teachers, other staff members and students that are in the collage as this can only get access to moodle with there user name and password. The user is required to click on moodle as showing by the arrow.








By click on moodle this screen will come up. Pass this document it as all the student's work for the year such as notes that the teacher put up for the student and their name of there subject that they do the whole week.

As this is created by the SRC which is an organization that create their own system and this holds confidential information that others can’t see outside the organization. Such as student reports that teacher's put up so only that the student can see it.

Information repositories

Organizations have many documents that is accessible from the web. For example in moodle here are the subject I have this year as the teacher is able to put information on it so I can write them when I want.  

As this website is open 24/7 and allow people to go on when they are at home or in the college and the information will still be on it. By using this site it easy for the teachers as they don’t have to print out and email the students the work. Plus if the teacher printed out all the work there is a good chance that someone out of the class is going to lose it. This website is helpful if the teacher is off sick and did not leave any work for their students they can go onto this and their work will be on this. As the information that is on this website will be repositories as only available on intranets in order to maintain confidentiality.
Within moodle this is in it as it is all the resources and information to staff and student. For example the student timetable as this is good for someone that has lost their and the teacher does not have to print it out. It also has a section called e-ILP this is were the teachers write up the report and it able to tell the student how many days they missed. It is also were the student have to get their parking permit instead of going all over the college looking for one. In additional it has student handbook, health promoting within the college. Therefore it tells the student what is on in the college in the teacher forgot to tell the student.
